My ex-wife insisted on shlepping her cross-country skis...she was a tough Norwegian who loved winter and hated summer. But even she couldn't take temps of almost 30 below with a wind chill of minus 80....almost 30 below with a wind chill of minus 80.We spent four days inside my sister's house, all of us going nuts. Tried to go to a movie and whiteouts from the blowing snow made traveling almost impossible. And yet, my sister has survived 45 Minnesota winters. She says it keeps the riff-raff out. Whatever, sis. We adopted a dog from Anti-Cruelty right at the start of it and then were walking her outside for the next two weeks, saying to each other "What were we thinking?!?!?" She was a wonderful dog and well worth every frozen moment, but she's also why we will never forget that particular cold spell.Bludoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18131740899428934800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-66412902076338709212016-12-22T08:49:56.815-06:002016-12-22T08:49:56.815-06:00run water at night in the house to prevent frozen ...run water at night in the house to prevent frozen pipes, cover any house spigots that are outside

people don't use common sensePrivatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10757585399827295128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-1248915831700302512014-01-08T22:21:06.069-06:002014-01-08T22:21:06.069-06:00The Midtown region includes Tunes Strip, nashville...The Midtown region includes Tunes Strip, nashville cab Vanderbilt in addition to Belmont Colleges, a few hospitals, tons of neighborhood restaurants, and also the cool Hillsboro Community in addition to Western side End neighborhoods.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01609611327017460215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-12672770973911417542014-01-07T16:00:38.347-06:002014-01-07T16:00:38.347-06:00Careful with that water trick. I don't care how cold it is, I still wouldn't want a cup of boiling water tossed my way, or into the wind. I think the answer is, outside of the fact it's one of the world's greatest cities, you actually learn to almost appreciate the challenge of getting through these finger-and-toe-numbing days because they really don't happen all that often. It's sort of a pride thing, and at least for me, living in a constant warm climate would be very boring. SandyKnoreply@blogger.com
