Teaches me not to be so literal. Now that the contest has ended I wonder if Neil would mind a public service announcement on behalf of my favorite fictional copper, Commisario Guido Brunetti of the Questura de Venizia. Several years ago a German TV company started filming episodes from Donna Leone's mysteries featuring this civilized (he reads Horace in his spare time) policeman, and they have started appearing, quite unheralded, on Channel 20-3 from 8:00 to 10:00 on Thursdays.

Hearing all those Italians speaking in German takes some getting used to and the actor cast as Brunetti does not look like the one I had envisioned -- often a problem when you see a favorite literary character portrayed on the screen. But the English titles are well done and the actor won me over.

Also, the Venetian scenes are stunning.

Tom Evans. It was also featured in a scene of Patrick Swayze's last tv series before his death, "The Beast", which I highly recommend.
DaleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-33887826039413224662015-09-26T08:40:35.990-05:002015-09-26T08:40:35.990-05:00Nice job, Nikki.Nice job, Nikki.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-71746773016511171782015-09-26T08:33:44.983-05:002015-09-26T08:33:44.983-05:00I think you're right, Nikki.
