My local diner isn't creative, but it is consistent and only rarely disappoints.

johntatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10088632798195131329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-70476077664836237262017-05-12T10:56:57.040-05:002017-05-12T10:56:57.040-05:00Love the chicken! But they really need to turn up the heat and fresh fry that chicken, get it crispy.okiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05414998405758030304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-43188052667990594702017-05-12T10:30:20.246-05:002017-05-12T10:30:20.246-05:00I haven't plumbed the law -- just sort of cred...I haven't plumbed the law -- just sort of credulously accepted what the restaurant owner told me. I imagine that certain things are forbidden even on private land. When I built my boys their fort, the village had requirements -- it could not exceed 15 feet in height. I would imagine that private commercial land allows big chickens in view of the public way. Like all law, it's complicated.Neil Steinberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11468057838260476480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-86833199193688174782017-05-12T10:26:14.750-05:002017-05-12T10:26:14.750-05:00(Actually, it is on private land, the owner tells ...(Actually, it is on private land, the owner tells me, so zoning approval was not necessary. That explains its presence).

OK, maybe I'm dumb, but I don't get that. The whole point of zoning is that you can't do just anything you want with your private land. If I bought a house and lot in a residential neighborhood, I couldn't tear down the house and open up a McDonald's, even though it's my private land.

Not saying anything against the restaurant, or even the big chicken. But I really don't understand the concept of private land = exemption from zoning.Bitter Scribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04645909858616987997noreply@blogger.com
