Alternatives like letterpress printing will...Neil,<br /><br />Alternatives like letterpress printing will stay the course until people who no longer care about how good it looks are making the decisions. As we have seen stupidity drive out intelligence in much of the business world and our entertainment, I would not be that optimistic about the long-term prospects in either printing or newspapers. However, as you know, I am a pessimist and I would be glad to be proven wrong. I do know of one important idea that turned out to be completely wrong. I recall when IBM was pushing the "paperless office" by sending documents between people to be read online. One of my clients which manufactured paper was worried about going out of business. Instead, we now consume far more paper than we ever did prior to the PC.David P.
