If you think about it, John the Baptist was probably the first street preacher, screaming about the adulterous wife of Herod Antipas. He was beheaded not long after. I always had a soft spot for our local street corner preacher from years ago. He believed he was doing the Lord's work and wasn't harming anyone. I like to think he ended up in a better place than he felt the rest of us were headed for in the hereafter. And yet, they are no different in nature that their counterparts like Isaiah and Ezekiel who also took their beliefs to the public and earned their scorn. Why this is a topic that may get Jakash to resume posting comments here, if only for the Airing of Grievances. Repent! We are spending too much money. The national debt is 19 trillion. Divvy that up among 330 million people means $58,000 apportioned to each man, woman, and child, in our nation. Plus each citizen of Illinois owes $26,000, in current and unfunded liabilities. Plus each Cook Countyan owes $26,700, in current and unfunded liabilities. Plus each Chicagoan owes $23,500. That doesn't include home loans, student loans, car loans, and payday loans. You People! We are swimming in a sea of debt. Some day the drain plug will disintegrate, and we will be inexorably drawn into a vortex leading straight to hell! But this holiday forget your worries, think about family, and have a happy Festivus.Berniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17157600812959885192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-6254605978707588582015-12-25T08:44:03.157-06:002015-12-25T08:44:03.157-06:00Funny; reminds me of the guy who shows up outside ...Funny; reminds me of the guy who shows up outside of Wrigley Field on occcasion with his bullhorn, admonishing the fans to give up their wicked ways before it's too late.

To all of the friends and fans of this blog, and to our kind host, have a very Merry Christmas.

SandyKAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
