It's just that that "government shouldn't regulate any marriages, so let's turn away the gays" like kept getting used by "libertarians" and others as an excuse for bigotry and it really annoyed me. I didn't think you were one, but I just had to mention it anyway.

Bitter ScribeUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12857840826894504436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-52600594336653532472016-07-10T20:02:43.441-05:002016-07-10T20:02:43.441-05:00Exactly where did I mention limiting it to hetero ...Exactly where did I mention limiting it to hetero only?
I didn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wrote "A couple"
Reading comprehension is your friend, so learn how to use it!Clark St.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09634234069783123180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-32100181600093308252016-07-10T11:01:27.416-05:002016-07-10T11:01:27.416-05:00Clark St.: Sure, as long as you don't use that...Clark St.: Sure, as long as you don't use that "government shouldn't recognize any kind of marriage" line as an excuse to deny marriage rights to gay people, the way many "libertarian" nitwits do.

(Although that is, thankfully, a moot point now.)Bitter Scribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04645909858616987997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-23492849874964711142016-07-10T08:35:33.021-05:002016-07-10T08:35:33.021-05:00"Rep.Joe walsh is a charming man." A couple goes to the local clerk or registrar's office, fills out the papers & the clerk stamps them & they have a civil union. Period.
If they want a marriage, then they go to the religious place of their choice or just a banquet hall, beach, home or park & then get married.
But if they want a divorce or dissolution, no religion has anything to do with that.
All the giant royal weddings that we've seen on TV in Britain, the two participants first went to the local civil office to get the civil union. Technically, at that point, they were married.
The big church thing was only required due to the various religious duties the person who holds the title of king or queen must do.

But back to Walsh, he's an idiot with a microphone, just like his idol, Limbaugh!Clark St.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09634234069783123180noreply@blogger.com
