I don't actively seek out that genre, but if I find one that's worthwhile, I make a point of reading every word. Mainly because I could write one of my own, but never have. Frankly, not that many people would give too much of a shit about what I experienced from a mean bastard. It's commonplace enough to be tedious.

So I'll spare you the general details, Mr. S, because you already know all too well how I can ramble and babble. I endured a half-century of psychological abuse from a nasty piece of work whose nickname was Old Yeller. At first it was also physical, until I gpt big enough to hit back. Then it became decades of emotional trauma. I high-fived my wife when he died. And at his funeral, there wasn't a wet eye in the house. Suffice it to say that I had a father, but I never had a dad.

Where can I find your own story?
Grizz 65https://www.blogger.com/profile/02892702223228764894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-84415348913928840472021-09-30T21:06:31.942-05:002021-09-30T21:06:31.942-05:00I've read that piece before, but it was certai...I've read that piece before, but it was certainly worth reading again. And, it couldn't really be "The Reader" without the orange and black ad for Corsets and Harnesses flashing along at the bottom of the page, could it?Jakashnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-70172245893191524052021-09-30T09:57:13.517-05:002021-09-30T09:57:13.517-05:00Ha! But, as it so often the case, it's the mishaps in life that make the best stories. This is a good one. And every one of my siblings has a complex and different relationship with our father such that saying anything good about him is tantamount to normalizing his aberrant behavior.

johntatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10088632798195131329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-50199253507858470592021-09-30T08:34:13.014-05:002021-09-30T08:34:13.014-05:00It is a great book that touches upon universals of...It is a great book that touches upon universals of the human experience. I loved it. Remember, this is a world where half the electorate is entranced by a sociopathic democracy destroying lunatic. They quite obviously don't read, especially thoughtful books by thoughtful people.Dennis Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03936110563379328219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-68602402953645849602021-09-30T07:49:12.725-05:002021-09-30T07:49:12.725-05:00Great.
