The book about Chicago Mayors sounds like a good read.

Don't know if Clark St. is here today, but I owe him an apology for blowing off his observation that I shouldn't have anglicized the spelling of Pearl Harbor. That the spelling of place names should not be altered seems a good rule, and one I would instinctively tend to follow with other pproper nouns. I would not, for instance, refer to denizens of the Pentagon as members of the Deparment of Defence umder any circumstances.

Tom EvansTomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09641357239788323783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-23179456128255196582016-09-12T10:12:23.867-05:002016-09-12T10:12:23.867-05:00Although I sometimes disagreed with him, I always ...Although I sometimes disagreed with him, I always enjoyed listening to him on WGN radio.Maidahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00695560604873128421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-57626085199445808492016-09-12T08:44:17.578-05:002016-09-12T08:44:17.578-05:00I took a Chicago History class with Professor Gree...I took a Chicago History class with Professor Green in the late 70s and I vividly remember him describing the fallen glories of the mansions around 19th and Indiana, unperturbed by strands of his hair streaming in the wind. Since then from time to time I've read his commentaries on political events and they always impressed me as being better informed and more cogently expressed than others emoted by academia. I'm not surprised that Neil found him to be a reliable guide to political understanding.

johntatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10088632798195131329noreply@blogger.com
