We finally bought a yamaha electric, and will never have another tuner in the house. Good. <br />Note, this is just where we live. Not implying all are weird. dodahmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16956857111371773320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-5619321950235381162021-09-23T16:15:22.096-05:002021-09-23T16:15:22.096-05:00Enlightening; thank you!Enlightening; thank you!Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02265121591041114100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-66418659519232113912021-09-23T08:43:51.261-05:002021-09-23T08:43:51.261-05:00I remember Victor Borge telling a story that if an...I remember Victor Borge telling a story that if an opera singer was difficult, they would tune the piano a bit higher than the A at 440, which would cause all the other notes to be higher & then the singer would lose it when they went to sing a really high note.Clark St.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09634234069783123180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3972382144120426476.post-40077275676247621512021-09-23T06:55:51.714-05:002021-09-23T06:55:51.714-05:00This is really a great column. He was like a great barber or mechanic, you never change them. He came over every six months. He made a very good living, interesting stories as well. But I never knew how he did it, I either left the house or went to a far away room. You can go crazy listening to someone tune a piano. You covered it well. I figured they would start at the "A" and go from there but I never knew what they did next. I see you found out. Great information, I never asked. This guy is so good he tuned my piano a little lower than the 440 so I can still have the 80 year old piano still working.
