Saturday fun activity: Where IS this?
Would it be unfair to leave you only with this rather shabby and dimly lit bedroom, with its particle board interior? Frankly, my gut tells me you could crack it from that alone. But I don't want to be too maddening—the goal of this contest is to challenge, not infuriate. So I'm going to include another picture from today's mystery location, as a clue. Where is this place? And why is it on fire?
The winner will receive one of my way cool—to me, anyway, the winner last week didn't claim it—2015 blog posters. Please place your guesses below. Good luck.

ReplyDeleteyou are welcome
ReplyDeletealso, good article in ST today , how ridic. that Repubs want the Pres. to be a constant warmonger
NS/ How does one edit once the words are posted?
ReplyDeleteYou can't. You have to delete and repost.
DeleteNS, check the Atlantic's expose of AA
ReplyDeleteFor the anonymous reader who might be looking for his expression of racial hate, I deleted it. And since bigotry is a form of ignorance, and you might be too stupid to realize WHY it's racial hate, let me explain. If I say, "Hey, why don't you write about an average Chicagoan like John Wayne Gacy? Write about how Chicagoans rape and murder boys and bury them in their crawl spaces," I'm expressing, not a dry factual remark, but bigotry, because I am slurring a group of people with the actions of an individual. I don't expect you to grasp that but, optimist that I am, I thought I would give it a try.
ReplyDeletepoint taken-one must not generalize-not trying to be hateful
ReplyDeletejust not putting any group on a pedestal as some pc do
rest assured, I am not stupid- no need to be so harsh
Deleteone isn't stupid, just because they disagree
Deletewith some groups it seems to be more a general happenstance and not a lone individual think as in your example
ReplyDelete"It seems to be a more general happenstance." To haters cherry-picking reasons for their hate. I don't buy it.
DeleteA hater doesn't give donations to the UNCF to help the disadvantaged with education. I have Afr. friends in the middle class and coworkers, who sound racist, but they can't be, when they speak of those in the hood. Some of them feel hood behavior helps perpetuate stereotypes.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? You can be sensible in every aspect of your life and have some specific, irrational hatred -- say against Muslims. Of course, being blind to it is to be expected.
DeleteNice shoes in the pic.
ReplyDeleteSorry, if one can't love everyone as you do, NS.
ReplyDeleteBut you are a good teacher, Mr. NS. on making points. thanks-
ReplyDeleteglad the glitch that was on the board for posting is now working again
I don't love everyone. I have all the biases and prejudices everyone else has. But I recognize them as such, and don't try to pretend they're represent some kind of verifiable truth. That's why haters try to spread the hate. Because some part of them knows they're wrong, and they're looking for reinforcements.
ReplyDeleteThat is true, you might have biases against Christians or conservatives, but not in a hateful way.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the latter myself.
Of course , you might agree with some of those so called racist comments so thou dost protest too loudly. Some of those are cultural attributes, more than stereotypes. Like Italians might be temperamental, for example, more than a Swede. Unless the later is playing hockey of course.
