Saturday fun activity: Where IS this?
I've been doing the Saturday fun activity for well over a year, but this one is a first. No, not for where it is or what this lattice of tubes and wires represents. But because of who sent it it: my esteemed Chicago journalist, friend and former colleague, Mark Konkol.
So where is this strange construction? The winner will get one of my sure-to-be-a-rare-and-valuable-collectible-unless-it-isn't 2015 blog posters. Place your guesses below. Good luck, and if anybody else wants to send in potential Saturday fun activity photos, please do. If I select yours, you'll receive a blog poster too.

The whale is on the east side of Lake Shore Drive just north of 55th Street.
ReplyDeleteYou got it Louis. Congratulations. Email me your address at dailysteinberg@gmail.com and I'll mail you your poster.
DeleteDon't know where it is. Where it should be: Sculpture Park along McCormick Boulevard.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly ugly enough to fit in there.
DeleteOuch! I think most of those are fine for viewing at bicycling speed... And I like The Whale from what I've seen, which is just these photos and the ones I just posted. Plus, it makes a statement about plastic pollution. I can't believe you're a big fan of bottled water, Clark St. ; )
DeleteI don't know if the photo was cropped that way to make it harder to guess, but here are some photos that give a view of the entire Whale. Evidently, a couple years ago it was in Grant Park.
